On this day, the YES community gathered for a night to be remembered: a night filled with buzzing conversations, a lively atmosphere, and to no one’s surprise, decadent and aromatic food at the May Dragon Restaurant.

As guests arrived at the event, the room buzzed with electricity, with a lively atmosphere created by all the connections forming between new and old members left and right.
As students sat in their seats in preparation of dinner, the event was kicked off with the YES leaders facilitating light-hearted ice breakers for everyone to introduce themselves. These rounds of introductions filled the room and tables with fresh voices, and even fresher smiles. The vibe at this moment? Warm, connective, and truly full of potential.
This event was not just a simple dinner—this was the beginning of new friendships, future bonds, profound connections: all key traits that define who we are, and what YES represents.

Soon enough, the main attraction, the food, was brought out for everyone to enjoy: an extensive range of Chinese cuisine that was sure to fill up the stomachs of those at the event. Throughout the feast, members of YES engaged with each other, striking meaningful conversations and forming new relationships.

Shortly following dinner, YES took a moment to recognize the person who made this all possible—Joe Chow. Mr. Chow served as the mayor of Addison from 2005-2011 and 2017-2023. In addition, he is also the proud owner of the May Dragon, whose delicious food was enjoyed by us on this special occasion.
In a meaningful speech that sparked questions from the audience, Mr. Chow spoke about his journey and accomplishments, reflecting on his experiences in food competitions, his ties to the community, and the values that have brought him to where he is.

In conclusion of this amazing gathering, all the YES officers along with PTA members came together for a lovely group photo with Mr. Chow, capturing a moment that fully reflects the unity and spirit of the night. This was not just a celebration; this was a meaningful introduction to a year of connecting, growth, and experience within the YES society.
