After making Thanksgiving cards during our November meeting, some YES members visited the Silver Gardens Senior Home to hand out the cards and help with their Thanksgiving gathering. Senior residents at the Silver Gardens were inviting and joyful when meeting with the YES members. We started out by introducing ourselves and handing out cards.

Afterwards, we served food to the elders. Surprisingly, ice cream and fried chicken were among the most popular food items there!

Many elders living at Silver Creek only speak Chinese, so it was great to talk with them and help with translation. The elders were kind and willing to talk to us and take pictures, and YES members were able to help out with the gathering of the seniors that day. The day was a great experience for both the youth and the seniors, showing us that friendships are made regardless of age. We departed with fond memories and a hope of returning again.
